Graphics Card

Vertex CAD programs use the Microsoft DirectX programming interface to display 3D graphics, and DirectX 11 support is required for the graphics card.

You do not necessarily need a separate CAD graphics card, but you can use an integrated graphics card, for example. However, a more powerful graphics card will improve the performance of Vertex CAD, as the Vertex graphics engine will be able to take advantage of the graphics processor's performance.

For example, Nvidia Quadro series graphics cards have been found to work well with Vertex CAD.

Updating the graphics card driver

If you have an Nvidia graphics card, you can download the driver update from the Nvidia website: www.nvidia.com.

  • When a new Vertex main version is released, it may include changes which require the graphics card driver to be updated to the latest version.
  • It is best to update the driver, especially if the driver you are using is remarkably old.
  • Please note, that the graphics card driver may also be updated with the operating system update.

Graphics card settings

Working with Vertex does not require changes to the default settings of the graphics card.
