System Administration and Customization 2020
These new features are introduced in Vertex DS main version 20.0.00 (Vertex 2020).
These functionalities are usually only available to the system administrator, who is part of the so-called admin group.
Exceptions to this are mentioned for the feature in question.
Use the quick button to edit cards
You can now use the quick button
to edit cards and search result lists.- You can still edit search cards using the context-sensitive Edit object page... feature for the archive tree object type (as introduced in version 18.0.00).
- You can edit the quick search result list and the contents of your trolley only with the quick button. The method presented in version 19.0.00 (Settings > Search> ...) is no longer available.
Add fields added by the software supplier to your custom cards
As the DS main version is updated, the software supplier may have added new fields to different objects.
- Such a new field is, for example, the Action field related to document expiration.
- If you have not modified the search card, or the row or box view of search result lists for that object, then these fields will be automatically displayed to you.
- If you have edited the object card, add the new field to the row or box view of search card, if necessary.
- Without this software change, the field added in the update did not appear among the fields that could be potentially added.
Add a description text for items on message templates
Changing the status of an item has long been accompanied by the possibility to send a message to the person in charge. This message has been missing a field for the item description.
- Now this description field can be added to the message templates with the <NAMEUI> tag.
Adjust the order in which the code series are displayed
You can now adjust the order in which the program lists the code series when the user selects the series.
- Portal > System Administration > Miscellaneous > Code series > Object type depending code series.
- Enter the order number in the Order field.
Add a check box to an object card
You can now add a check box to the object card while editing it.
Create the necessary roles for projects
Project roles are used to grant permissions. In a general permission rule, you can, for example, assign certain permissions to a project manager and a designer, and then select project-specific people for these roles.
- This will make it easier to deal with general permission rules.
- Portal > System Administration > Users and Permissions > Roles
Possibility to add a change comment to search results lists as a customization
If you want the change comment to appear in the search results list, it can be added there.
- This requires editing the search result row for the desired object type by adding a text form field called COMMENT.
- As the customer's system administrator you can only add fields starting with C_ to objects (for security reasons), so this work must be ordered from Vertex Systems Oy.
Removed function "Create another rule with this permission matrix"
This functionality has been removed as unnecessary.
- The function complicated the management of the rules, as it was not clear which permission table was affected by the change.
